Michael Waters is the president of Phase 1 Sports a Las Vegas based company. The company's primary goal is to develop our youth through sports and activity. As president he has created a system that focuses on academics, mentoring, performance, and marketing to assist over 100 athletes in receiving scholarships. Phase 1 athletes are currently attending schools such as UNLV, Cal Berkeley, Tennessee, and many more. At thirty-three his vision is to expand and make Phase 1 a house hold name in Las Vegas and the rest of the country. With youth programs starting at 5 years old, athletes and young children are able to get a head start in all areas of development.
Michael started Phase 1 Sports a year after college and three years later was named the Nevada Microenterprise Initiative Business Person of the Year. He is also an active participant in the Clark County School District PAYBAC, and Stay in School Mentoring Project.
Michael attended Mt San Antonio Junior College after not being academically eligible for an athletic scholarship after high school. There he received an Associates in Arts Degree and transferred to the University of Las Vegas Nevada. At UNLV he played football under the leadership of legendary coach John Robinson. Now his mission is simply to assist in the development of young athletes. After learning from his mistakes as a young athlete, the mission of Phase 1 is to provide the guidance that he did not have growing up.
