San Gabriel Valley Combine

Phase 1 Sports ventured into Southern California

and held its First Annual San Gabriel Valley Combine at Citrus College.

The event was a success with about 50 athletes who came out to participate. The players put forth great effort in all of the skills testing, which consisted of the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, bench press(185lbs) and vertical jump. Some notable performances include Darien Dyles with the highest vertical jump of 34.4”, Nick Bueno with the fastest shuttle time of 4.28 seconds and Antoine Louis Jr. with the highest bench press of 23 times. The MVP of the event was Myles Johnson, who also had the fastest 40-yard dash time. Myles Johnson is a 164lb Junior Running Back from Carson High School. His overall stats included running a 4.73 seconds 40-yard dash, 4.28 seconds shuttle time, bench press of 185lbs 15 times, and a vertical jump of 27.4 inches. Co MVP of the event was also awarded to Christian Hayes, a 5-11 and 209lb Junior Linebacker from Taft High School. Christian ran a 40-yard dash time of 5.08 seconds, shuttle time of 4.33 seconds, vertical jump of 25.1” and bench press 20 times.
